Gurmeet Singh sits on the Board of Directors of Focus Brands, a major restaurant company operating globally.
Most importantly, as a board member at Focus Brands, Gurmeet has the power—and ethical responsibility—to let the public and its customers know what plans Focus has in place to end the use of cages throughout its supply chains.
In 2016 Focus Brands promised to end the use of caged eggs
throughout the US and Canada, and then, in 2021, the company
promised consumers it would end the abuse of hens throughout all of
its supply chains by going cage-free globally.
After almost 7 years, Focus is still not reporting any progress
on reaching these goals.
Focus Brands is now at the center of a global campaign that is
gaining attention and support worldwide. Consumers are outraged and
want Focus to take its commitment seriously by publicly reporting
its current cage-free progress and providing a glidepath on how it
plans to achieve its global cage-free goals by 2028.
Many of the world’s leading manufacturers, including
Famous Brands,
Yum! Brands,
Restaurant Brands International, and
Food Delivery Brands
are reporting meaningful progress on their commitments, while others
are already reporting 100% cage-free fulfillment.
It is unacceptable that Focus seems to not be making a sincere
effort to fulfill its promise to go cage-free and refuses to
publicly share what plans are set in place—if any—for being
cage-free by its deadline.
If Gurmeet Singh truly cares about consumers and doing what’s right,
he will publicly share the company's current cage-free status and
plans to reach its cage-free goals.

demand transparency and animals deserve better. Now is the time to
demonstrate true leadership by showing the world that Focus Brands
is committed to upholding its promises and ending the abuse of
animals in its supply chain.
